GRANITE BAY, Calif. (Reuters) - Maureen Reagan, the daughter of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and actress Jane Wyman, died of cancer on Wednesday in her northern California home, her family said in a statement. She was 60. Reagan returned home this month after undergoing whole brain radiation for malignant melanoma at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California, near Sacramento.
Reagan was first diagnosed with the deadliest form of skin cancer in 1996, when a large mole was found on the back of her thigh. After a period of remission, the cancer returned late last year and spread to several parts of the body.
Reagan, the oldest of the four children of the actor-turned-California governor and U.S. president, grew up in the shadow of her Hollywood parents. Later she became a political analyst, talk show host and public servant in her own right.
