
Sarah Delany, co-author of 'Having Our Say,' dead at 109

A North Carolina woman who witnessed the whole 20th century has died.
Sadie Delany and her sister Bessie grew up in Raleigh, the daughters of a slave. They moved later to New York City.
After they turned 100 years old, they wrote a best-selling book about their lives as a teacher and a dentist.
Sadie died in her sleep in her home outside New York. She was 109 years old. Bessie died in 1995.
